I got tagged to post 10 facts about my pregnancy and motherhood.
Thought I'd use this as an excuse to post Noah's 20 week ultrasound too :)
1. Being pregnant gave me a new kind of respect for the woman race - our bodies are amazing and we are beautiful creatures.
2. I will never forget the moment Noah was handed over to me by the midwife, tired overwhelmed and completely in love is an understatement.
3. Nothing can prepare you for bringing your first baby into this world, your life changes forever, for the better, in ways you cannot imagine.
4. Before I was pregnant, I couldn't watch programs like 'one born every minute' but since the birth of Noah I am addicted!
5. Half way through labour I thought Noah had already came out and was demanding the midwife to tell me where she'd put him! #toomuchgasandair
6. My labour was the longest ever, 50 hours plus. I think this was something to do with Noah being born 11 days late weighing 9lb 8oz and me only being (usually) a size UK 6. I put on almost 3 stone with my pregnancy!
7. I never had the intention to co-sleep, I went out and bought a Moses basket and cot as advised to by the HV etc, but Noah probably slept in them both about twice, in the daytime :D Co-sleeping happened so naturally and was better for both of us.
8. Noah was going to be Noah's name since I was about 12 or 13.
9. If I had a girl she would have been called Demi, and if I have a girl in the future that'd be her name.
10. I think everyone knows this now, but Noah had Meningitis at 5 weeks and this has made our bond stronger and really opened my eyes into what motherhood is about. This stopped me from returning to work in the usual timeframe of maternity leave, and I'm so glad I spent an extra 6 months at home with him. And for anyone that didn't know about his illness, he made a full quick recovery.
